"Dree Code's price for this boot was by far the best I found - a real bargain. These boots appear to be of extremely high quality. These were purchased to replace a 20 year old pair of Italian-made Vasque boots which finally expired, and I anticipate an even longer life from the Zamberlans. Their full-grain leather is very thick, and a waxy finish is fully impregnated into the uppers and the welt. The stitched soles on the Zamberlans should be much more reliable when replaced. I've had BAD luck with glued-on soles - the originals fall off before the uppers are worn, and replacements fall off even more quickly - usually on a hike. I've got a wide, flattish foot 11-1/2 to 12 foot, especially the front, and was worried about a tight fit. But there is plenty of room in these boots, so for me the 12 D purchased was perfect right out of the box. They're very easy to slide into, which is a real advantage over other boots I've had. The sole initially felt stiff, but became sufficiently flexible with just a short walk. It will take a couple of years to see how well they actually last and fit, but my Zamberlans and I are off to a very good start. "

"Construction and quality of materials are very impressive. Initial fit and comfort have been very good. Have not yet gotten these into the backcountry, but expectations are they will excel in the field. "

"Do not order a half size bigger for thick hiking socks. They are very rigid so take a bit to break in. However they are comfortable. "

"Great boot, at a great price, and quick delivery. I wear hiking boots almost every day, so I know what I want. Comfort, support, with good sole design and good looks are a must. I have been through 3-4 pairs of Asolo Renegade's, and many other brands of approach shoes and day hikers over the past 20 years, . They were all decent products. But the Zamberlan Tofane exceeded my expectations, and is my best hiking boot by far. The support in the ankle area is fantastic. The leather linings and inner soles are comfortable and well cushioned. However, it's the outer sole that you are paying for with this boot. The classic Norwegian Welt constructed outer soles (sewed together with inner soles to the upper part of the boot) are rugged and dependable, and won't turn to mush at the end of a long hiking day. My Asolo's always died when the glued on soles gave up and separated from the tops. The Tofane outer soles are aggressive and medium stiff, and do great job of protecting your feet against sharp rocks like those on mountain trails and gravel roads. The boot is also roomy in the toe box, which allows for thicker hiking socks and foot expansion during all-day hikes. If you like a tighter fit, I would recommend a half size drop. , "

"WOW! Worn Salomon Hiking Boots for last 20yrs, but my last pair bought last year was to narrow and never broke in width wise. Took a chance on Zamberlan and wore them for the 1st time tonight to the football game and PERFECT FIT right outta the box! One of the best fit shoes I've ever had the pleasure to own! 5 Stars!"
