Bucket Hats at Dress Code

Bucket hats have been around for decades, being the signature hat of Gilligan (Gilligan’s Island) as well as Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and more recently have made a strong “comeback” within the streetwear and music industries. You can find a collection of bucket hats in various materials and patterns within almost any brands’ line nowadays. You can also find a few different variations of this popularized accessory from the classic bucket, to bell hats, and even “safari” hats. Here’s a good portion of the buckets in stock at Dress Code Clothing. Enjoy!

Akomplice Blue Dialation Bucket

From Akomplice’s Summer 2014 delivery, we have the bucket hat from their “Blue Dialation” Collection. A cool one color “tye dye” pattern in a navy blue color overtop a white bucket hat.
Volcom Estrada Bell Hat

From Volcom, comes the Estrada Bell Hat. Notice the difference between these and the Akomplice above. A similar crown construction to a snapback, with the button and five stitched panels and air-holes with a strip of fabric wrapping around the base connecting to the “bill”.
Crooks & Castles Headliner Bucket

Here’s one of Crooks & Castles Bucket Hats from their Summer Delivery. The “Headliner” is made from a soft brushed polyester fabric featuring an “all over print” of C&C in a very “Vogue-esque” form.
Famous SAS Buckets

Even Famous hopped onto the Bucket Hat trend. Above we have the “Homegrown” and “Paisley bucket hats. Both with “all over print” patterns with skulls into the design.

Diesel Summer Style Guide

If you’ve been rockin’ with Dress Code for a while now or you happened to read our Diesel Guide, you know that Diesel is one of our “staff favorites” for denim. It’s a tad hot here in Tucson (as well as most places) to be wearing jeans right now, so I wanted to showcase some new Diesel products currently in stock for the summer. We’ve got a ton of new shirts and accessories, so let’s take a look..

Sonora Woven Button-Up

For those rare, cool summer nights, this “Sonora” woven Button-Up is a perfect top layer for a night on the town or a nice dinner with your lady. Constructed using a nice thin and airy woven linen, this shirt gives you the denim appearance without the denim weight, while keeping you cool and keeping your layer game on point. Whether worn buttoned up or open paired with a plain white tee, this is a closet staple for all Diesel fans.

T-Erato Henley

If you’re more of just a t-shirt and jeans type of guy, the T-Erato Henley will give you all the qualities of your ratty University tees without the look of a plain t-shirt (or the stench) and also can usually be an acceptable alternative to collared shirts for your nights on the town. This super soft cotton blend tee gives you a stylish look without making you feel too “dressed up”.

So now that you’ve got an outfit somewhat formulated, you’ll need an accessory or two to really set off your look. Let’s check out some cool Diesel accessories that work well with this outfit we got started.

DZ7301 Watch

The Diesel DZ7301 watch has a very stylish design, giving the piece maximum wear-versatility. With the style of the band resembling a heavy metal watch, this piece is perfect to be worn as a daily time keeper or can be your go-to watch for special occasions. The teal accented movements compliment the all Black face nicely and really make the white backlit number pop.

DZ1631 Watch

For the fellas that deem themselves a little more classy, the DZ1631 is the perfect time piece to spice up your wrist game this summer. The sleek stainless silver housing gives it just enough flash without looking too big on your wrist, while the classic brown leather band gives the watch its’ classic look. The bold block lines and numbering on the dial put the finishing touches on this classic watch from Diesel. Who knew Diesel could make minimalism look so good?

New at Dress Code: Stussy S/S 2014

Stussy’s new summer pieces have arrived at Dress Code just in time for that summer trip you’re planning or that big barbecue you have coming up. I’m seein a lot of classic Stussy stock logo designs in the likes of tanks and tees this season with a few cut n sew pieces thrown in the mix. On top of their summer garments, four models from the new Stussy eyewear collection came in as well. The collection uses classic silhouettes such as wayfarers, giving them their own modern, less-circular twist of design. I’m going to focus on Stussy’s eyewear and non stock logo garments since the tour tees and stock logos are pretty well recognized already. So, let’s take a look…

Stylin’ Socks

Socks have transformed from a basic article of clothing worn primarily for warmth and hygiene, now into a commodity, or collector’s item if you will, among the self-deemed stylish population of the world. With an endless array of colors, patterns, as well as styles of socks, I’m willing to bet this is a “trend” that will never end. With that being said, I’ve gathered up all the new socks at Dress Code and created this nice sale guide for you guys. Won’t be showing you all of them since there’s currently over 120 different pairs in stock from all different brands. So start emptying out your over flowing drawer of ratty, holey socks and check this out.

Stance

Stance has become one of the number one retailers for all your sock needs whether it be style, warmth, or performance socks offered in a wide range of sizes. Not to mention they just launched a basketball specific line with rubber coating to help keep your foot in place in your shoes.

HUF

It’s no secret that HUF socks are currently hot items to have for just about any age or demographic. You can walk around the mall and see a 13 year old girl with plantlife socks walking by and see a grown man over his 30′s with her exact pair on all in the same trip. Enjoy!

Rebel8

Rebel8 has really stepped it up with all their garments lately in my opinion. If you’re already familiar with Rebel8, I’m sure you would agree that just the variety of socks alone is impressive. Multiple colorways in almost every pair they produced this season. Don’t sleep.

Fox: More Than Just Motocross

Growing up in Alaska, Fox racing was a a hot commodity with all the locals, whether it was Fox Head apparel, racing gear, or a new set of Fox Shox™ for their snow mobile. Fox is known for their long-time affiliation with Motocross and other motorsport cultures, but those aren’t the only industries of focus for the brand.

Fox has not only started their transition into more of a lifestyle apparel brand, but have re-vamped their look for 2014, to say the least. They’ve simplified a lot of their shirt graphics and gone with a “cleaner” aesthetic, using their signature fox head logo as the staple of the companies’ makeover. Combining their pre-existing design technologies with their newly created tech and performance materials, Fox stepped into the performance sportswear industry with their new active apparel line. The Fox Active line features various lightweight, sweat-wicking garments tailored to the specifications of athletes and fitness enthusiasts alike, while still staying true their x-treme roots. From performance base layers, to various models of running shoes, Fox continues to prove their versatility as an apparel company. Here’s a look at a few pieces from the Active line.

Herschel Spring/Summer 2014

Herschel Supply Co.

There’s no denying that Herschel Supply Co. has successfully made their mark in the bags/accessories industry and are definitely here to stay. Using a wide variety of materials and patterns, Herschel redefines the term “unique” with their mixture of classic travel silhouettes and their renditions of traditional backpacks and duffle bags. Any product coming from them is high quality and the attention to detail is shines through every piece ranging from Daypacks to credit card wallets. Here’s a look at some pieces from their new collection for Spring/Summer 2014, available now at Dress Code.

Summer Vibes

Herschel came strong with bright and “sunny” colors for this Spring/Summer collection. Known for their eye-catching patterns, they introduce this new canvas striped textile pattern to add to their archives. You can pick up any one of their signature styles in this new color way whether you need a new tote bag for your beach brews this summer, or a new backpack for next semester.

Dare To Be Different

Another cool pattern they came out with this year is this custom floral pattern. We’re seeing a lot of different floral designs in the fashion industry lately, so I assume Herschel wanted to stay relevant to the current trend with this collection, while still staying true to their own aesthetics. And they did just that incorporating water-proof nylon as a base for this season’s litter of packable pieces. They used the same pattern(s) on their signature canvas backpacks, focusing on fine detailing all the way down to the outside straps of their “Little America” as well as their “City” model.

Be sure to check out the rest of the collection here, and let us know what you end up grabbing before they’re sold out in the comments below.

Summer 2014 Street Wear Style Guide

Summer Style

I’m going to do a quick summer style guide for you guys and also touch on how to put together some new outfits to re-vamp your summer wardrobe. From hats, down to kicks and every piece in between that not only looks cool but also keeps you cool in the heat! Let’s first take a look at some of this summer’s popular trends to get started and take it from there.

Chino Shorts

Aside from the few trends I’ve already touched on in previous posts, the big one that I’m noticing more as it heats up outside, is chino shorts. I’ve seen a massive “aesthetic shift” this season, from the once overly-praised baggy (camo) cargo shorts, now onto a more sleek, clean cut look and above-the-knee fit with chinos. I personally feel that this style of short works and looks much better with your thinner cut shoes (i.e. Vans, Chuck taylors, etc.) than baggy cargo shorts would. Not to mention, they will show off your socks a lot better too for you crazy sock collectors out there.

5-Panel Hats

Not that I’d call this a “new trend” exactly, but a trend this summer nonetheless. The 5-Panel hat. I somewhat see this trend going hand in hand with the chino shorts. Everyone’s been on snapbacks and Cargo shorts for the past few summers and now we see this shift towards a cleaner, less busy style. Perhaps people have become bored with the same old Wiz Khalifa/Justin Bieber wardrobe everyone wears. With a fresh pair of black or grey chino shorts matching your t-shirt (opposite color from choice of your shorts of course), or even just a plain white tee, this grey paisley 5-panel from Crooks&Castles will be “the cherry on top” of your outfit.

And of course…… Tank Tops

I don’t care what you have to say about tank tops and their lack of fabric where you feel there maybe should be. If you live in Tucson or anywhere in Arizona for that matter, they are absolutely vital to your well being for the summer. Trust me, you will still look “cool” and stay even cooler in the blistering desert heat. If I were to go with this 10 Deep tank top, (headed to a 4th of july shin-dig, duh!) I would pair it with those khaki Brixton Chino Shorts above and then for my footwear decision, I’d keep the patriotism rolling and throw on these “star spangled” Vans to match.

Maybe even throw this Red Nixon “Supertide” on my wrist if I’m feelin’ spiffy! Be sure to share the outfits you come up with in the comments below.
